Frequently Asked Questions

  • I’ve worked on over 20 books for leaders, public speakers, counselors, and pastors. I’ve observed that several people have a unique story or a special approach to their work, but they struggle with finding an effective way to share it.

You may not have the time, expertise, or industry knowledge to turn your ideas and message into a book that captivates and engages readers. But that shouldn’t stop you from becoming an author. I am offering you a professional, simplified, and discreet way to articulate your thoughts and share your insights, experiences, and wisdom with the world.

I’ve worked in and around the publishing industry for almost a decade. I’ve helped authors navigate the complexities of writing a book, choosing the right publishing route, and using their books to scale their business.

If you need an expert to write, edit or coach you through the process of working on a book, I can help you.

  • I use a proven process that minimizes guesswork and ensures steady progress over time. This process allows me to partner with authors and maintain that collaborative relationship throughout the writing and publishing stages.

    Here’s how it works:

Initial Consultation: We'll start with a free consultation to help me understand your project, goals, and expectations. This helps me gauge the scope of work and determine if we're a good fit.

Project Proposal: Based on our consultation, I'll provide a project proposal that outlines the scope, timeline, deliverables, and fees associated with the ghostwriting services. It will also include your book’s audience breakdown and recommendations, BISAC spread details, and comparative analysis.

Strategy sessions: Once we have an agreement, we’ll meet for a strategy session. During this session, we’ll have an in-depth discussion about the broad strokes of your story, your visions for the book, the research materials needed, the content structure, and the personalities/characters involved in the story. We’ll also decide if we need to interview anyone else. This session will help me learn more about you so I can understand your voice and preferred tone.

Outline development: From there, I'll work with you to split your story into chapters and form an engaging narrative across the chapters. The nature and flow of the outline will depend on the specific genre and the manner in which we want to come across. For example, an outline for a thriller memoir may have to purposely conceal information at certain points and reveal them strategically at other times

Interviews/Writing: Once we've figured out the outline, we start writing. It's simple: Each week, or often as we decide, we meet for 90 minutes. During these sessions, I interview you on a set topic from the outline, and then I go away and write. As chapters are completed, you’ll have access to them, and we can review them together as we go. While I'll also conduct external research and interviews if necessary, any materials and resources you can share with me will be appreciated.

Editorial: When our first draft is complete, I'll hand it over to my editorial team. My team includes a developmental editor, copy editor, and proofreader. There will be three rounds of revisions, one for each editor. Together, they'll review the draft and suggest edits for us to approve or deny, and in some cases, we may need to add more content.

Formatting: After editorial revisions have been completed, I’ll format the draft into an industry-standard manuscript which can be shared with a publisher or other third-party professionals.

That's my ghostwriting process, which can take anywhere from 3 to 9 months, depending on the type of book, author's availability, and depth of research needed.

  • Costs vary and depend on the amount of research needed, how long it will take to write, edit and format the book, and how many interviewees I have to speak with, among other factors.

That said, you can expect me to charge at least 20,000 USD for a full-length nonfiction book or memoir (i.e., 50,000 words or more). This covers strategic planning sessions, outline development, writing, interviews, research, and manuscript formatting.

You don’t pay everything upfront. Payments are made in monthly installments with the first month’s payment serving as a deposit.

  • Each book is unique and timelines may vary. The truth is it depends on a number of factors including your availability and how much research is needed.

I have written a book in less than a month, and I’ve spent over a year writing a book. But I tell most people to plan for somewhere between 3 to 9 months.

  • Not necessarily. I can help you develop your ideas, conduct research, and organize your thoughts as part of the process.

  • We can communicate through email, video calls, phone calls, and other preferred methods to ensure seamless collaboration.

Conversations are recorded and you will have access to the recordings.

  • Yes, absolutely. The content I write is credited to you, and I ensure your voice and style are reflected in the writing.

  • Yes, I work with clients from around the world, regardless of their location.

  • Client confidentiality is a priority. Your ideas and information are treated with utmost discretion.

  • While I don't publish books directly, I can guide you through the publishing process and offer recommendations.

  • While I don't offer book marketing services, I can provide guidance and recommendations for promoting your book.

Also, after our initial consultation, I will send you a proposal that includes a brief preliminary marketing analysis. This analysis will tell you exactly who and where your ideal readers are, books that are similar to yours, and how yours can stand out in the market to readers, agents, and publishers, and recommendations for long-term revenue generation.

  • I’m an experienced writer, storyteller, and business owner who only works with clients who truly want to make an impact. My clients have landed interviews on major media outlets such as ABC, Huffington Post and The Globe and Mail, among other publications.

With over 20 books under my belt, including #1 Amazon bestsellers, I’m very selective about the projects I take on.

When I sign on to a project, I’m fully committed to getting that project from ideation to publication. This means I work with you to make sure the book’s in excellent shape when it’s time to be published, help you navigate different publishing routes and options, and guide you through marketing strategies.

That’s my offer: to be your partner throughout this complicated process of writing and publishing a book.
